About this simulator

Gas A and Gas B particles represent two different gases. Add either gas to either chamber, open the door, and compare their independent partial pressures.

Measurements

Pressure and temperature are calculated from particle population and mean squared molecular speed. All pressure and temperature readouts use a rolling average so the gauges represent macroscopic measurements rather than individual molecular fluctuations.

Model

Values are scaled for teaching rather than tied to a particular physical chamber size. The simulation is qualitative and is intended to reveal equilibrium, diffusion, partial pressure, and temperature–pressure relationships.
